Kindergarten is M-F 9am to 2pm. We use the Orton Gillingham program for reading, Horizon's Math and Learning without Tears for writing. Class size can be anywhere from 9 to 15 children. We have two teachers with unique gifts to make this a great experience.
Amy Tribble is a kindergarten teacher at Little Ranchers Learning Center. Amy has been teaching for 12 years, and it is her 4th year teaching kindergarten. Amy specializes in teaching literacy and holds a Comprehensive Orton Gillingham Certificate, is trained in Barton Reading and Spelling Program, Secret Stories of Reading & Writing and has 10 years of experience as a literacy tutor for ages PreK-12 grade. Amy is known for her ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment, using a range of scientific research based and multi-sensory methods to help children reach their learning potential. Amy loves to challenge kids to be curious and excited about learning.
Melissa Martin has been an educator for over 30 years and is one of the kindergarten teachers at Little Ranchers Learning Center. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in dance, from Middle Tennessee State University. Melissa has worked with young children in various capacities from directing children's ministries, teaching k-5th at a daycare and teaching dance for all ages. While homeschooling her four children, she was Co-Op Director for LAF, a local homeschool organization covering preschool thru high school. Now that her kids are older, Melissa loves having this opportunity to share her passion for teaching young children while, prayerfully, instilling in them a love of learning.
